The Entertainer Awards

blogger-entertainer-award

I was nominated by Leanne from her blog, Never Trust a Booknerd¬†for this award. You should definitely check out her blog if you get a chance because she posts some amazing content. Thank you so much for nominating me, now let’s check out the rules!

Rules:

  • Write a post with the Award Picture.
  • Nominate 12 bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and, most important of all, entertaining ūüėÄ
  • Add the rules.
  • Also, answer the questions ^^

Why did you start a blog?

I’m not really sure.¬†One day, I just decided to start it and after sleeping on it for a while, I started a blog! I love the fact that this blog can unite so many people over there love of books.

What is your favorite book?

I hate this question. Why does everyone always ask this? I just don’t know! It changes every time I read a book! I refuse to pick just one *storms out of room*

What do you dislike the most? (Bookswise?)

Assuming this is a bookish question, I hate¬†whiny main characters. I also hate arrogant love interests and when a character doesn’t stick up for him/herself.

What’s your favorite food item from the mall?

A good frappe from Starbucks. Or butter croissants. Those are amazing.

What is your favorite pastime?

Generally I love reading, which is why I have this blog. But I also really enjoy doodling in my free time.

I nominate…

I apologize if I tagged anyone who has already been tagged.

The Snack Food Book Tag!

I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of tags lately. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad though…

But anyway, I was tagged by Milou from Simply a Book Drunkard. You can find her post here, and while you’re over there, you should take a look at some of her other posts because she has some awesome stuff over there. It was originally created by Lucia.¬†Anyway, let’s get started!

1.Chocolate-Covered Pretzels: A book couple you never thought would end up together?picm9rcDt

I have way to many ideas for this one, but I narrowed it down to either Mare/Cal, or Ron/Hermione

2.Prunegales (see what I did there? the name is trademarked so I couldn‚Äôt use it): An addictive book that you can’t get enough of?pringles-chips-ss.jpg

Right now, it’s Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare! This book is becoming an actual obsession of mine. It’s all I can think about!

3.Trail Mix: A book with a variety of different characters?

trail-mix.jpg

A whole lot of books really, but the first thing that pops into my head is The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.

4.Fruit Bowls: An unpredictable character?black-fruit-bowl-1500

Maven from Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. You can check out my review for more detail, but basically, when Maven joined the Scarlet Guard, it was like, wow! That was unpredictable, but also pretty cool! But that last plot twist though. ugghh.

5.Nut Bar: Your go to book?

Anything by Cassandra Clare or Shadowhunter related really. I guess I’ve got Shadowhunters on the brain!

6.Popcorn: A character you can’t help but like?

Just to stick with the Shadowhunters theme, I was going to say Jonathan (Sebastian) Morgenstern, but then I remember Snape. So obviously I’m going to say Snape.

I tag:

The Book Haunt

Shh I Am Reading

Charlieighs Book Nook

and as usual, anyone else who wants to do this tag!

The Pixar Tag!

I saw cat do this tag a while back, and loved it. I figured it was about time for me to do it myself!

1. Warm up question: What’s your¬†favorite Pixar movie?

This is already a hard tag! How am I supposed to choose just one? Anyway, my two favorite movies would have to be Brave and Inside out. I really love both of these movies.Brave2. Toy Story: Your favorite childhood book that you never grew out of.

I always The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and I don’t think that I’ll ever grow out of it. I feel like this is a book that has different meanings the more you read it.

3. A Bugs Life: A book that felt too similar to another popular book.

I hate trying to compare two books! I think the two books that I read and thought were super similar were TMI and Twilight. I’m not saying that they were super similar because they weren’t. I enjoyed both of them individually but they did have a lot of similar elements and themes.

4. Monsters Inc: A villain whom you couldn’t hate.

I’m gonna go back to The Mortal Instruments again because of Sebastian Morgenstern. He was so mean and I hated what he was doing, but I just couldn’t bring myself to hate him as a person.

5. Finding Nemo: Best family relationship you read about in a book.

I’m going way back and checking out the classics for this one and saying all of the sisters from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. They all went through so much, but they went through it all together, and they have such a strong bond.

6. The Incredibles: The superpower of a character you wish you had.

I would want to have Harry Potters powers. Being a wizard would be pretty awesome.

7. Cars: A book where the characters go on a road trip/ travel a lot.

The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. In this book, the characters travel a whole lot. Tally goes all over the place throughout this book and I love it!

8. Ratatouille: Your favorite sidekick from a book.

Again from TMI, Alec Lightwood! I love him in the books, and now in the tv show, I really hated him in the movie, but that’s okay! I’m not totally sure why, but I just love Alec!

9. Wall-E: Your favorite (or top 5) dystopian book/series.

  • Divergent by Veronica Roth
  • The Giver by Lois Lowry
  • Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
  • Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
  • The Maze Runner by James Dashner

And the list goes on!

10. Up: The most beautiful love story you’ve ever read.

I loved the relationship that Eleanor and Park have from Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I thought it was amazing how they both accepted each other for who they really were.

11. Brave: The most badass heroine you’ve ever read about.

Laia from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. If you’ve read this, then you get me, but if you haven’t read this books yet, you better get on it so we can fangirl/boy!

12. Inside Out: a book that gave you all ‘the feels’.

This or That Book Tag

Wow! I just realized that I was tagged by Milou to do this tag at the beginning of the month so I figured I better get a move on!

The Rules:

  • Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks).
  • Thank the blogger who tagged you!
  • Choose one of the options, you don‚Äôt have to tell the reasons why you chose that but you can also do them if you want to.
  • Tag 10 other people to do this tag to spread the love!

The Questions:

1.Reading on the couch or in bed?

I usually read in bed since most of the time I’m reading at night.

2.Male or female main character?

Umm… I don’t really have a preference. I think I enjoy reading about female main characters but really either as long as they’re well written.

3.Sweet or salty snacks while reading?

Usually something sweet, as long as it’s not super sweet.

4.Trilogies or quartets?

Trilogies, but I’m not really sure why.

5.First person or third person point of view?

I prefer reading from a third person point of view so we get the chance to build our own feelings and views without having the main characters beliefs pushed onto us.

6.Reading in the morning or the evening?

Both! I usually read in the evenings though because I have to leave for school early in the morning, but on the rare occasion that I do read in the mornings, I really enjoy it.

7.Libraries or Bookstores?

I used to only get books from libraries, but now I am a firm bookstore supporter. I think it’s more of a selfish thing for me, because I love watching my collection grow, even if I don’t always go back and reread the books that I have.

8.Books that make you laugh, or cry?

Definitely laugh! It’s so easy for a book to make me cry, but while I do like both, I prefer laughing to crying any day!

9.Black or white book covers?

I don’t really care, so black I guess.

10.Character or plot driven stories?

Even though they both can be amazing, I think I prefer plot driven stories.

I tag…

All of the bloggers I tagged here have amazing content, and you should totally check them out! Let me know if you do this tag, because I would love to see it.

The Book Blogger Test

book-blogger-test

Hey everyone! I am writing this blog post for my second week of posting twice a week! Yay! ¬†I saw this post over at My Little Book Blog¬†and she said that she tags everyone with an L in their first names, which is me! You should check out her post and tell her I say hi! Anyway, let’s get started!

What are your top three book pet hates?

  1. When I get super excited for a book to be released only to read it and find out that it’s not all that.
  2. When amazing books have terrible covers. Such as City of Bones. Amazing book, but slightly embarrassing cover.
  3. Cover changes. Need I say more?

Describe your perfect reading spot

I love reading on the beach ūüôā but since that sadly doesn’t happen as often as I would like it to, I like reading in my room in the winter, all curled up with a blanket and some hot cocoa, but¬†during warmer parts of the year, I like reading on a hammock outside. So I guess it really depends on what mood I’m in.

Tell us three book confessions

  1. I do have a tendency to judge a book by it’s cover.
  2. I just can’t get into books when they’re on my kindle. I bought a kindle and was excited for all the cheap books, but I rarely use it ):
  3. I get serious separation anxiety when I lend out my books to people.

When was the last time you cried during a book?

This is a hard question because I do tear up a whole lot while reading but the last time I was full out bawling was a while ago. I believe I was reading The Fault in our Stars which makes sense. That said, I just got a package containing Me Before You, and from what I’ve heard, this one’ll bring on the water works real fast.

How many books are on your bedside table?

Uh oh. I’m debating moving some off so that I can write this but let’s be honest. I currently have seven books on my tiny night table. I’m keeping the books I got from the library there and I just put Me Before You on the stack.

What is your favorite snack to eat while you’re reading?

This again is one of those things that really depend on my mood. Lately I’ve been enjoying reading while sipping a smoothie or something.

Name three books you would recommend to everyone.

  1. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
  2. Looking for Alaska by John Green
  3. Out of my mind by Sharon Draper

Show us a picture of your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase

I kinda don’t have a bookshelf or a book case but when I get one, I’ll definitely make a post out of it and include some pictures.

Write how much books mean to you in just three words

Not gonna answer.

What is your biggest reading secret?

I…I used to dog ear pages! I’m sorry :.(

I’m going to tag You! If you do this tag, let me know by linking your post in the comments!

#TastyPastryBookTag

I was  tagged by Leanne to do this tag. I have to let you know that I really struggled to come up with some of these answers, and all the pictures made me hungry, but it really is such a fun idea!

Croissant:

Name a book that everyone loves, including you.

I’m gonna¬†say the Maze Runner books, because a lot of people really liked these books, and I was no exception.

macarons-feature-pic

Macaron

Name a book that was difficult getting into but was worth the effort.

The Twilight Saga. This series was so hard to get into because of how cheesy it was at points, but I found that I just needed to relax a little, and I wound up really enjoying this series.

Vol-au-vent

Name a book you thought was going to be amazing, but really wasn’t.

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin. When I heard we were going to be reading this book in school, I was excited. It sounded like something that I would enjoy. But the farther into the book we got, the more bored I got with it. I think it would be better if I read it on my own time, and I plan on doing that at some point, but having to read it for school, it got super confusing and I wasn’t able to really enjoy it.

pain-au-chocolat-mblb2006_horiz

Pain au chocolat

Name a book that was totally different from what you expected.

For this book I’m going to say the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. I don’t know what I expected from these books, but definitely not what happened. I’m not saying that as a bad thing at all! This trilogy was amazing and was executed perfectly!

Profiterole

Name a book that doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

For this category, I’m going to say School of Deaths by Christopher Manino. This book isn’t really one of my favorites, but I still thought it was a pretty good book, and since it came out only last year or something, it hasn’t really gotten a whole lot of attention.

Croquembouche

Name an intricate book

img28l

I’m going to agree with Leanne for this one and say the Harry Potter books. The whole world that JK Rowling creates is so detailed, and every character has a back story. These books were definitely intricate.

IMG_0311

Napolean

Name a TV show or movie you thought was better than the book.

This is such a hard question since I don’t really watch a whole lot of TV. I think that I’m going to say Divergent. Just because it’s the only movie I remember that at least lived up to the book. I’m not saying that the movie was better then the book though. This is really hard!

Empanada

Name a bittersweet book.

The Fault in our Stars. This book was amazing, but as with most books like it, it’s so sad! Sometimes sad books are the best though.

koolompeh

Kolompeh

Name a book that is set in a place you want to visit.

I fall in love with almost every location that I read about in books, but I’m going to say Idris from The Mortal Instruments books. I know that it’s a made up place, but the way that Cassandra Clare describes it to you is amazing. It sounds so beautiful, and I would love to visit and just explore.

la-pate-a-choux

Pate a Choux

Name a delicacy from a book that you would like to eat.

I would want to eat the sweets from Harry Potter. Or the Dauntless cake. I don’t know which.

Eclair

Eclairs

It’s time to spread the sweet and tasty pastry :p.

This was such a fun challenge, and I learned a whole lot about pastries. I hadn’t even heard of half of these before! I challenge Felicia to do this challenge. You should definitely check out some of her posts!

11.What was the last book you read that¬†surprised you¬†because it was so good, even though you didn’t expect to like it very much?
