The Book Lovers Tag

Hey guys! So I’m back with another book tag! I wasn’t actually tagged to do this, but when I saw this tag I figured I would try it out. Enjoy!

Do you have a specific place for reading?

I actually do. I like reading in my bed, but it has to be made so I just sit amongst my pillows. I also read on my couch sometimes, but since I have a larger family, my room is one of the only places I can get comfortable and read in peace and quiet.

The Hamilton Book Tag!

Hey guys! So if you didn’t know already, I am super obsessed with Hamilton, and have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat, so when Sean from kingdombookblog was kind enough to tag me for this, I jumped at the chance. I am really hoping to get tickets for the show at some point, but as of now, it doesn’t look very likely. Anyway, let’s see what we can do!

The Versatile Blogger Award!

Hey guys! I was indirectly nominated for this award by A Mortal Reader. You can check out her post here.

Let’s start with the rules:

  • Show the award on your blog
  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Share seven facts about yourself.
  • Nominate others

7 facts about me:

  1. I am one of four siblings.
  2. I have a kindle, but I rarely ever use it.
  3. I go through periods where I just forget to read.
  4. I have never read the Percy Jackson series, although I really want to.
  5. I used to break out whenever I would eat strawberries. But I loved them. So I ate them anyways. And now, thank goodness, I’m over that. The price we pay for love!
  6. I LOVE Disney World and have been there at least ten times.
  7. I preschedule my blog posts, and try to write them in bulk when I can.

If You Like This… Recommendations Tag

Hey everyone! This is my first book recommendations post, so let me know if you want to see more in the future! I was tagged by Sean from kingdom book blog. You can check out his post here. Enjoy!

1.) If you like…

81PUjYDq2yLThrone of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Then you’ll like…

kiss_of_deception.pngThe Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

Why? I feel like they read similarly and both are filled with plot twists. I really enjoyed both of these books, and if you enjoy high fantasies, or either of these books, you should definitely read the other.

2.) If you like…

Red_QueenRed Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Then you’ll like…

21421609Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers

Why? If you like Red Queen, you’ll probably like most YA fantasy books so there’s that. They also both have female protagonists who lose/are separated from their families and basically have to learn to survive without them.

3.) If you like…

51hgkNew+XL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_Paper Towns by John Green

Then you’ll like…

71LkLmxqgjL.jpgEleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Why? Both of these books will make you laugh and cry within the same chapter. They are both fictional books, with super relatable characters in believable scenarios.

4.) If you like…

9780545162074_p0_v2_s1200x630.jpgHarry Potter by JK Rowling

Then you’ll like…

Eragon_book_coverEragon by Christopher Paolini

Why? They are both more middle grade fantasy books that are enjoyable for everyone.

5.) If you like…

51xp9nphNQL._SX335_BO1,204,203,200_The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Then you’ll like…

41bOj-am1RL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpgThe Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Why? If you haven’t read both of these books, you’d better get on that. They are both dystopian books where the government is using teenagers for entertainment/experiments.

6.) If you like…

81preFdeiKL.jpgDivergent by Veronica Roth

Then you’ll like…

81cJChEQjSLThe Giver by Lois Lowry

Why? Divergent is a super popular dystopian series, but The Giver is one of the first dystopian books written. And it’s amazing.

7.) If you like…

cityofbonesrepackaged-259x400.jpgCity of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Then you’ll like…

18660669.jpgVampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Why? While I haven’t read Vampire Academy yet, I’ve heard that you can get drawn into the Vampire Academy world like you get drawn into the Shadowhunters world.

The Intimidating TBR Tag

Hey everyone! I was nominated to do this tag by Felicia at the blog Fell For Books. You can check out her post here. I have a tendency to buy double the amount of books that I read, so my TBR shelf is always filled to the brim! While I do love it that way, I’m kind of ashamed that I haven’t read some of the books.

1) What book have you been unable to finish?

Four by Veronica Roth

I’m not saying that these novellas are bad, I just haven’t had the chance to finish them. I got about halfway through the book and then I set it aside for now. I’ll get to it at some point.

2) What book have you yet to read because you just haven’t had the time?

I’m literally planning on starting to read this over the weekend, I just haven’t had the chance to start it yet.

3) What book have you yet to read because it’s a sequel?

I have yet to read this book, but not because it’s a sequel. I just haven’t read it, and it’s not really super high up on my TBR list simply because I didn’t really love the first book.

4) What book have you yet to read because it’s a new release?

I am so excited to read this book, and it’s sitting on my shelf!!

5) What book have you yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t like it?

I’m not really sure. If I didn’t like another book by the same author, it’s probably not on my TBR list.

6) What book have you yet to read because you’re not in the mood?

I was so excited when I got this book, but I just haven’t been in the mood to read it.

7) What book have you yet to read because it’s humongous?

This book isn’t even that big, so I’m actually not even sure why I haven’t read it yet. I guess I just haven’t had a chance.

8) What book have you yet to read because it was a cover buy with bad reviews?

I’m not sure I have one…

9) What book on your TBR is most intimidating to you?

All of these questions are starting to sound pretty repetitive. I don’t even know why this book is so intimidating to me.

The #BookshelfScavengerHunt

I was tagged by Never Trust a Booknerd to do this tag. In this tag, you basically have to go on a scavenger hunt on your bookshelves and, by following the directions, find a book or cover to post on your blog. Let’s read the first instruction!

Find a book with the letter Z in its title or the author’s name:

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Find me a classic:

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Find the oldest book on your shelf:

This one might be The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis, but I’m not really sure…

Find a book with a key on its cover:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry! I have yet to purchase a book with a key on the cover so I’m going to pass.

Find something on your shelf that isn’t a book:

So as of now, I don’t have a real book shelf, but I do have a picture of me and my aunt from when  I was a toddler.

Find a book with an animal on the cover:

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Find a book with a girl on its cover:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Find a non-YA book:

Julius Ceasar by William Shakespeare

Find a book with stars on its cover:

The only book that I could find with a star on it was Number the Stars by Lois Lowry.

Find a book with golden letters:

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin.

Burn, Rewrite, or Reread Book Tag

I wasn’t actually tagged by anyone, but I’ve wanted to do this tag for a while, so I figured I’d give it a shot!

The rules are as follows:

  • Choose 3 books (I am using the ‘random’ option on Goodreads)
  • For each group of books, choose a book to burn, to rewrite and to reread
  • Repeat until you’ve completed 3 rounds

Round 1:

  1. Animal Farm by George Orwell
  2. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
  3. Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers

This is actually really hard. Don’t hate me for this but..

Burn: Animal Farm

Rewrite: Eclipse

Reread: Assassin’s Heart

Round 2:

  1. The Lost City of Z by David Grann
  2. The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney by Suzanne Harper
  3. Looking for Alaska

Burn: The Lost City of Z

Rewrite: The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney

Reread: Looking for Alaska

Round 3:

  1. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
  2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by Jk Rowling
  3. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

This is hard!

Burn: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Rewrite: Fahrenheit 451

Reread: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This was actually way harder then I thought it would be! I’m going to tag:
