June Book Haul!

Hey everyone! This month I bought way to many books and am totally out of money now. Here’s what I got!

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

This cover is so gorgeous. I love it with the dust jacket, but when it’s naked it’s even more beautiful. Without the dust jacket, the book is yellow and white and so pretty, but on the back of the dust jacket there is a poster of Andie’s face which I totally was not expecting. I’m so excited to read this book by the pool this summer.

Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley

This is one of those cover buys where you buy the book mostly for the cover. The book sounds really cool, but this cover is amazing and in real life, it shimmers and looks even cooler. I could frame this book and hang it on my wall and be totally happy.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I have been wanting to read this book for the longest time, so I finally went ahead and bought it. This sounds so creepy and weird and I am so excited to finally read it.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians by Rick Riordan

Guess what? I still haven’t read anything by Rick Riordan! I decided that it’s about time, so I bought the paperback box set of Percy Jackson and The Olympians. I can’t wait to finally get around to reading these books.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

I absolutely loved the first three books in this series, but for some reason I still haven’t gotten around to reading this book. I finally got it though so Queen of Shadows, I’m coming for you!

Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow

This book is HUGE! It’s way bigger than I expected and it’s a biography, which I don’t usually read. I’m not sure if I’m going to ever finish this book, but it could be interesting!

Frostbitten by Heather Beck

I won this book in a giveaway hosted by Lost In Sweet Words and I was so excited! It’s not often that I win things, so when I do, it’s super awesome! I received this book in Pdf format, and I am so excited to read it!

So those were all of the books that I bought/received this month. I’m so excited to read all of these books, but I’m not sure how I’m going to fit them all on my bookshelf. I hope you enjoyed! Would you like to see reviews on any of these books? Let me know!

Birthday Book Haul!

Hey everyone! I feel like I haven’t been a super active follower lately, and I credit that to my show. Since the show is ending soon, hopefully this should improve. Anyway, for those of you who didn’t know, my birthday was on Sunday, which also happened to be the opening day of The Lion King. Because of that, I didn’t really do anything special. I did get a lot of books though, and I’m super grateful for all of my amazing friends for getting them for me. Let’s get started!

The first book that I got was…

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken:

In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles, but years from home. And she’s inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she’s never heard of. Until now.

Nicholas Carter is content with his life at sea, free from the Ironwoods-a powerful family in the Colonies-and the servitude he’s known at their hands. But with the arrival of an unusual passenger on his ship comes the insistent pull of the past that he can’t escape and the family that won’t let him go so easily. Now the Ironwoods are searching for a stolen object of untold value, one they believe only Etta, his passenger, can find. In order to protect her, Nick must ensure she brings it back to them-whether she wants to or not.

Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods’ grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home forever.

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray:

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes—and promises to revolutionize science forever. But then Marguerite’s father is murdered, and the killer—her parent’s handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul— escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows—including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. Before long she begins to question Paul’s guilt—as well as her own heart. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is far more sinister than she expected.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo:

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price–and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…

A convict with a thirst for revenge.

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.

A runaway with a privileged past.

A spy known as the Wraith.

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

Starflight by Melissa Landers:

Solara Brooks needs a fresh start, someplace where nobody cares about the engine grease beneath her fingernails or the felony tattoos across her knuckles. The outer realm may be lawless, but it’s not like the law has ever been on her side. Still, off-world travel doesn’t come cheap; Solara is left with no choice but to indenture herself in exchange for passage to the outer realm. She just wishes it could have been to anyone besides Doran Spaulding, the rich, pretty-boy quarterback who made her life miserable in school. The tables suddenly turn when Doran is framed for conspiracy on Earth, and Solara cons him into playing the role of her servant on board the Banshee, a ship manned by an eccentric crew with their own secrets. Given the price on both Doran and Solara’s heads, it may just be the safest place in the universe. It’s been a long time since Solara has believed in anyone, and Doran is the last person she expected to trust. But when the Banshee’s dangerous enemies catch up with them, Solara and Doran must come together to protect the ship that has become their home—and the eccentric crew that feels like family.

Throne of Glass books 1-3 by Sarah J. Maas:

In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king’s champion. Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass–and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.
