The 50 Questions Book Tag

I originally saw this tag done over at bookish regards. You can check her post out here.  This is a kind of random tag, but I have a long car ride ahead of me with lots of time to kill, so let’s get started!

Definitely closed. For some reason I will not be able to fall asleep if my closet is open, or if I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.

48. DJ or band at wedding?

Depends on the band. Probably a dj though.

49. Which are better, lack of green olives?

Probably black olives if they’re in a salad, alone I’d choose green olives though.

June Book Haul!

Hey everyone! This month I bought way to many books and am totally out of money now. Here’s what I got!

the-unexpected-everything-298x450

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

This cover is so gorgeous. I love it with the dust jacket, but when it’s naked it’s even more beautiful. Without the dust jacket, the book is yellow and white and so pretty, but on the back of the dust jacket there is a poster of Andie’s face which I totally was not expecting. I’m so excited to read this book by the pool this summer.

Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley

This is one of those cover buys where you buy the book mostly for the cover. The book sounds really cool, but this cover is amazing and in real life, it shimmers and looks even cooler. I could frame this book and hang it on my wall and be totally happy.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I have been wanting to read this book for the longest time, so I finally went ahead and bought it. This sounds so creepy and weird and I am so excited to finally read it.

Moms-Cheat-Sheet-Percy-Jackson-Feature.jpg

Percy Jackson and The Olympians by Rick Riordan

Guess what? I still haven’t read anything by Rick Riordan! I decided that it’s about time, so I bought the paperback box set of Percy Jackson and The Olympians. I can’t wait to finally get around to reading these books.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

I absolutely loved the first three books in this series, but for some reason I still haven’t gotten around to reading this book. I finally got it though so Queen of Shadows, I’m coming for you!

Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow

This book is HUGE! It’s way bigger than I expected and it’s a biography, which I don’t usually read. I’m not sure if I’m going to ever finish this book, but it could be interesting!

Frostbitten by Heather Beck

I won this book in a giveaway hosted by Lost In Sweet Words and I was so excited! It’s not often that I win things, so when I do, it’s super awesome! I received this book in Pdf format, and I am so excited to read it!

So those were all of the books that I bought/received this month. I’m so excited to read all of these books, but I’m not sure how I’m going to fit them all on my bookshelf. I hope you enjoyed! Would you like to see reviews on any of these books? Let me know!

Let The Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger

Hey everyone! Before I start this review, I just want to let you know that I’m on a car ride with my family going to the beach, and since I didn’t bring my computer with me, I figured that I’d download the app. This all goes to say that I apologize is the formatting is weird or different. Anyway, let’s get back to book talk!

Vane Weston should have died in the category-five tornado that killed his parents. Instead, he woke up in a pile of rubble with no memories of his past — except one: a beautiful, dark-haired girl standing in the winds. She swept through his dreams ever since, and he clings to the hope that she’s real.

Audra is real, but she isn’t human. She’s a sylph, an air elemental who can walk on the wind, translate its alluring songs, even twist it into a weapon. She’s also a guardian — Vane’s guardian — and has sworn an oath to protect him at all costs.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both their families, Audra has just days to help Vane unlock his memories. And as the storm winds gather, Audra and Vane start to realize that the greatest danger might not be the warriors coming to destroy them, but the forbidden romance growing between them. – Goodreads

Let The Sky Fall is a young adult fantasy book, but the way it was written strays from many other fantasy books that I’ve read. This book is written like fiction, and the author makes it seem as though the events in this book could very well happen to you. This book wasn’t one that I was planning to read, but my dad picked it up for my brother to read, buts free he rejected it, I decided to give it a shot, and I’m glad I did.

On Goodreads I only gave the book four stars. The reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it was a bit slow getting in to it, but honestly learning all about the sylphs and their powers was so cool. It made me want to go out and feel the wind. It was so fun because the day that I was reading this, it was nice a breezy out, so I was able to feel the wind in my hand and I could almost let myself believe that I could control the wind.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s in the mood for a contemporary fantasy. I actually don’t think that’s a thing, but it is now. It isn’t one of the confusing high fantasy books that have whole new worlds you need to figure out, but the author does an amazing job at world building.

Let me know any thoughts you have in th comment section. I love hearing from you! Thanks!

The Book Lovers Tag

Hey guys! So I’m back with another book tag! I wasn’t actually tagged to do this, but when I saw this tag I figured I would try it out. Enjoy!

Do you have a specific place for reading?

I actually do. I like reading in my bed, but it has to be made so I just sit amongst my pillows. I also read on my couch sometimes, but since I have a larger family, my room is one of the only places I can get comfortable and read in peace and quiet.

The Hamilton Book Tag!

Hey guys! So if you didn’t know already, I am super obsessed with Hamilton, and have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat, so when Sean from kingdombookblog was kind enough to tag me for this, I jumped at the chance. I am really hoping to get tickets for the show at some point, but as of now, it doesn’t look very likely. Anyway, let’s see what we can do!

Fictional Character Book Recommendations!

Hey guys! So as you could probably tell from the title, I’m not really sure what to call this, but basically, in this post, I’m going to be naming a bunch of different fictional characters, and I’m going to be telling you what book genre I think that they would like. Let’s get started!

Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)

Hunger-games-katniss-everdeen-image.jpg

I think Katniss would probably read a lot of diy books. I feel like she’s the kind of character who likes to be independent, so she would enjoy learning how to diy stuff.

Tris Prior (Divergent)

hqdefault.jpg

I think Tris would enjoy reading time travel books. I’m not totally sure why, but she just seems like someone who would like those.

Celeana Sardothien (Throne of Glass)

raf,220x200,075,f,5e504c-7bf03840f4.u5.jpg

I think Celeana would enjoy reading Dystopian books, like the aforementioned, with badass female protagonists who defy all odds because from Throne of Glass we get the image the Celeana doesn’t like to be, and shouldn’t be, underestimated.

Eleanor (Eleanor and Park)

1604448_420321664737104_1135104104_n_by_ellienoah-d7fqw3y.jpg

I think Eleanor would like reading cheesy romance novels because while she has a super tough life, she always seemed to me to be more of a dreamer.

Hazel Grace (The Fault in our Stars)

hazelgracetfiostrailer.png

I feel like Hazel would like reading tragic romances or books about war. She seems to like more depressing books, so any book that is honest and “real” would be something she would probably enjoy.

Jace Wayland (The Mortal Instruments)

vampire-academy-s-dominic-sherwood-cast-as-jace-wayland-in-shadowhunters-how-jace-waylan-368451

I think that Jace likes books of poetry and Shakespearean type stuff. Anything mature and hard to understand, Jace would be all over it.

So that’s all I have for this post! Did you agree? Disagree? Do you want to see more of these done? Let me know by leaving a comment! If you decided to do this post, leave a link so I can check it out! Also, if you happen to have a better title for this, please tell me! Thanks!
